Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson is already having an eventful NFL career before his first professional game.
In an unfortunate turn of events, he was shot in his glute and his lower leg when muggers tried to rob him.
While his injuries were non-life threatening, he still required surgery before taking the field again.
Robinson was in high hopes while at the hospital, and he received visits from Commanders co-owners Dan and Tanya Snyder.
Team president Jason Wright and head coach Ron Rivera also took time to check up on him.
After being released from the hospital, Robinson participated in some drills to regain his speed, stamina, and agility.
He is now cleared for practice four weeks into the 2022 season.
The Commanders commemorated Robinson’s journey through a video posted on their official Twitter account.

Commanders Hyping Up Robinson’s Return
The Commanders tweeted, “An incredible journey @BrianR_4 is back on the practice field.”
The video started with NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano saying, “Let’s talk about Brian Robinson first. The good news is that he is out of the hospital…”
It then transitioned to Commanders’ players and coaches happily welcoming him to the team’s facility while he was still using crutches.
The video shifted to his highlights from their preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.
Finally, it showed footage of him doing drills and attending practice.
Robinson may have his NFL debut in Week 5 when the Commanders take on the Tennessee Titans.
However, his amount of playing time remains to be seen because Washington has other running backs in Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic.
If he can bring his form from Alabama to the NFL, Commanders fans are in for a treat.
