Texans sign CB Steven Nelson to two-year, $10M deal

The Houston Texans are making moves with just a couple of weeks to go until the draft, signing former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Steven Nelson to a two-year deal worth $10 million.

A seven-year veteran, Nelson is coming off of his only season with the Eagles, ending the campaign with one interception, seven forced fumbles and 50 tackles.

Prior to his stint in Philadelphia, Nelson logged two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, tallying three interceptions and 109 tackles through 30 games.

Adding Nelson into the mix is expected to fill a big hole for Houston, one that new head coach Lovie Smith acknowledged to Pro Football Network. "Our play at the cornerback position last year was not good enough, simple as that," he said.

The Texans have 11 picks in the upcoming draft, including the third and 13th overall in the first round.
