Terry Fontenot Reveals Grady Jarrett Injury Update
USA Today Sports

Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Grady Jarrett is recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in early November. Nearly four months later, Jarrett continues to show signs of progress.

“Grady’s excellent," general manager Terry Fontenot said at the NFL Combine. "He’s going to find a way to be ahead of schedule … we feel good about that.”

Since entering the league as a fifth-round pick in 2015, Jarrett has been a staple on Atlanta's defense. Before his ACL tear, Jarrett had missed just three games throughout his nine-year career.

While it remains to be seen if Jarrett will be ready for Week 1 in September, Fontenot seems optimistic that the two-time Pro Bowler will make a good amount of progress during his recovery process.

"He's been here for a decade now and he's played at a high level," defensive line coach Jay Rodgers said. "I have not studied him from a personnel standpoint for a while, other than the fact that he's a very productive player that all D-Line coaches are watching because he has some dynamic things that he does."

Once Rodgers gets Jarrett on the field, there's hope that he'll be able to pick up where he left off last season as he enjoys the next stage of his career.
