Tennessee Titans Seven Round NFL Mock Draft 3.0 after L'Jarius Sneed trade and all free agency signings
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Now that the Tennessee Titans have added another elite cornerback in L'Jarius Sneed via trade with the Kansas City Chiefs and NFL Free Agency Frenzy is slowing down, the NFL Draft picture is finally taking shape. It's time to look ahead to next month's NFL Draft as the incoming rookie class could be what solidifies the Titans as immediate contenders under new head coach Brian Callahan.

As of this writing the Tennessee Titans have eight selections in the 2024 NFL Draft:

  • Round 1, Pick 7 Overall
  • Round 2, Pick 38 Overall
  • Round 4, Pick 106 Overall
  • Round 5, Pick 146 Overall
  • Round 6, Pick 182 Overall
  • Round 7, Pick 227 Overall
  • Round 7, Pick 242 Overall
  • Round 7, Pick 252 Overall

In order to come up with the perfect seven round mock draft for the Titans I took into account remaining positional/contractual team needs after the Sneed trade and utilized data from the last 120+ mock drafts over the last four weeks. Let's dive in to see what general manager Ran Carthon might do to help build a championship roster!

Round 1, Pick 7 - Joe Alt, LT Notre Dame

Since the NFL Combine Joe Alt has cemented himself as the top offensive lineman in this 2024 NFL Draft class. Alt has monstrous size and length at 6'9", 321 pounds with arms near 35 inches long. He posted a 92nd percentile A to Z Sports Athletic Composite score at the NFL Combine. And to top it all off, he gave up just one sack on the year last fall with a 99th percentile pass efficiency rating. Titans need offensive tackle help badly, so this makes way too much sense.

Round 2, Pick 38 - Chris Braswell, EDGE Alabama

Titans return just two edge defenders from the 2023 roster who racked up more than one sack last year (Harold Landry & Arden Key). They could use a third edge rusher to develop opposite Harold Landry. If they can't have Dallas Turner, the premier edge rusher in this class, why not select his teammate Chris Braswell?

Braswell posted the fourth highest pass rush pressure rate in this class among power conference defenders and offers a perfect fit. Braswell brings multiple-front versatility, able to line way far wide outside or hold his own at five-tech when called upon. This would be a great foundation-building pick.

Round 4, Pick 106 - Maason Smith, DL LSU

Maason Smith struggled to stay healthy at LSU, but he is one of the freakiest defensive tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft. At 6'5", over 300 pounds, with 93rd percentile arm length Smith is the ultimate "first off the bus" type. The Titans need another defensive tackle to pair with Jeffery Simmons. They return almost no production at the position group besides Simmons. Smith isn't the best at generating pressure, but his size and strength can help him tie up multiple offensive lineman on almost every play.

Round 5, Pick 146 - Theo Johnson, TE Penn State

Theo Johnson dominated the NFL Combine, testing as a carbon copy of Jimmy Graham, posting a 99th percentile athletic profile. If he's so athletic, some may wonder why he didn't produce more at Penn State. Simply put, the Penn State offense over the last two years distributed targets to multiple tight ends and three receivers, intentionally operating without a clear lead option.

The Titans could use a more prototypical tight end with 6'6", 260-pound size and elite athleticism. Chig Okonkwo can be a solid receiving option in 12-personnel, but Theo Johnson could be a real every down tight end.

Round 6, Pick 182 - Trevin Wallace, LB Kentucky

Trevin wallace has become a popular late round mock draft target for several teams since he posted a 97th percentile A to Z Sports Athletic Composite Score at the NFL Combine. Wallace has performed well at every turn this draft season. He covered tight ends and running backs well at the Senior Bowl. He was an excellent interview at the Combine and tested well there too. The Titans could use another good cover linebacker with potential to grow into the second every-snap linebacker alongside Kenneth Murray.

Round 7, Pick 227 - Daequan Hardy, CB Penn State

Daequan Hardy is a bit small, but he would be the perfect dime and sub-package defensive back to slide in with L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Owuzie, and Roger McCreary. His 4.38-forty speed and 95th percentile Burst Score at the NFL Combine make him one of the most explosive athletes among all cornerbacks this year. Plus he would immediately plug in as the team's best kick and punt return man. Hardy scored multiple punt return touchdowns last fall on just 17 attempt (and had another one called back due to a penalty that didn't have an effect on the play).

Round 7, Pick 242 - Layden Robinson, OG Texas A&M

Layden Robinson is a bit raw as an inside offensive lineman, but he would be an absolute steal in round seven as a developmental guard. His near 90th percentile arm length and ideal build make for an immediately solid back up option based on traits alone. The Titans could still use guard help even after bringing in Saahdiq Charles to slide in next to Skoronski and Cushenberry.

Round 7, Pick 252 - Tyler Owens, S Texas Tech

Tyler Owens may be a bit of an odd bird (announcing that he doesn't believe in space at the NFL Combine), but he is the most athletic defensive back in this entire draft class. So why is he still projected to go so late in the draft? Owens has a very limited resume of production, with 2023 being his only full starting season. That inexperience led to him getting out of place on defense at times, but his athleticism would frequently help him recover to make a play. If the Titans can groom him, his athleticism may make him a solid starter for the two-tone blue some day soon.
