Ted Karras returns to Patriots on one-year, $4 million deal

After one year with the Miami Dolphins, Ted Karras is returning to the New England Patriots.

According to The Athletic's Jeff Howe, the Patriots and Karras agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal.

The Patriots selected Karras in the sixth round of the 2016 draft. He served as New England's starting center in 2019 when David Andrews was ruled out due to blood clots in his lungs.

The 28-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins and started all 16 games in 2020.

New England's signing of Karras seems to indicate that Andrews will not return in 2021 after five years with the Patriots. The two-time Super Bowl champion will test free agency and see what it has to offer.
