Tampa Bay Buccaneers Make Roster Moves Ahead of Eagles Matchup
USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a couple of roster moves on Thursday as they get ready to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.  As expected, the team placed running back Chase Edmonds on injured reserve. He will be out 4-6 weeks as he recovers from an MCL injury he sustained in the victory over the Bears. With no other move in the backfield that likely means Ke'Shawn Vaughn will be active Monday night for the first time this season.

In a corresponding move, the team signed defensive lineman Pat O'Connor to the active roster from the practice squad. The Bucs now have seven defensive linemen on the team. O'Connor's signing might not bode well for the availability of Kancey who continues to deal with a calf strain. The injury caused him to miss nearly all of training camp, and the second half of their Week 1 game against the Vikings.

However, there's also the possibility another team was looking to sign O'Connor to their roster and the Bucs called him up to prevent that. To fill his spot on the practice squad the team re-signed deadrin Senat. The former USF Bull spent all of last season with the Buccaneers between the practice squad and active roster.

As reported Tuesday, Tampa Bay also made the signing of offensive lineman Logan Stenberg official. The former fourth-round pick of the Lions gives the Bucs size and a veteran with starting experience in the league to work with in case injuries strike the main roster.
