The Seattle Seahawks sign another quarterback

The Seattle Seahawks came into this offseason trying to figure out what direction the team would go with their quarterback situation for next season. Geno Smith had a career-resurrecting season for the Seahawks in 2022, leading the team to the playoffs after Russell Wilson was traded.

However, it was unclear if the Seahawks would try to draft a quarterback. The Seahawks were able to sign Smith to a deal to keep him in Seattle. The Seahawks have also now re-signed a backup for Smith for next season.

According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Seahawks have signed sign Drew Lock to a one-year deal. His contract is worth $4 million in base salary. However, incentives can make that number grow to $7.5 million.

Lock is a former second-round pick by the Denver Broncos that came over to the Seahawks as a piece of the Russell Wilson trade. Lock did not record any stats for the Seahawks last season.
