Report: Legendary NFL Broadcaster Joe Buck Comments on Las Vegas Hosting Super Bowl

In an interview earlier this week, Joe Buck was asked if he had any interest in attending the Super Bowl this year in Las Vegas. An important note is that he would be attending as a fan rather than a member of the media in this scenario. Here is what he had to say:

“I do not have any desire to be there. It’s a lot of logistics. It’s a lot of congestion. I’m just not that way, I’m not looking for the Maxim party and going out all night. It’s just not my thing and you combine that with Vegas…there’s going to be some story, there’s gonna be something that happens because it’s Vegas and it won’t stay in Vegas. There’s gonna be a big something that happens. I don’t know what it is. I have no idea. That is going to be a mess, in my mind.” -Joe Buck

Las Vegas’ Reputation

Las Vegas has a reputation of being “Sin City.” There is also a slogan of “What happens in Vegas… stays in Vegas.” However, in this day and age, it is valid to think a scandal would come out. Especially when it comes to a media event as big as the Super Bowl.

It is known as a party city. Unfortunately, some people tend to take that too far. An example is former Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III.

He was sentenced to a minimum of three years in prison for a felony DUI he committed in Las Vegas back in 2021. Ruggs was well over the legal BAC limit to drive and was speeding. Unfortunately, this DUI ended up killing a woman.

Or it could be something simple that the media decides to run with. Last year, there was an incident between singer Britney Spears and NBA superstar Victor Wembanyama in Las Vegas. After Spears accused a member of Wembanyama’s security team of striking her, the incident went viral.

Buck seems to be hinting that one of these two events could be replicated in Las Vegas. Hopefully, things will go smoothly with this year’s Super Bowl, and we avoid controversial events.
