Record-breaking NFL journeyman QB lands with Ravens yet again

Josh Johnson is joining the Baltimore Ravens yet again, continuing his whirlwind NFL career that's seen him suit up with nearly half of the teams in the league.

Despite being signed and waived multiple times by the Denver Broncos in 2022, Johnson didn't end up seeing any snaps with the Broncos. Johnson signed with the San Francisco 49ers in December and went 1-for-2 for 10 yards while adding two carries for three yards across two regular season appearances, totaling 22 offensive snaps.

The 37-year-old played 23 offensive snaps during the Niners' NFC Championship Game loss to the Philadelphia Eagles following Brock Purdy's PCL tear on the team's first offensive series. Johnson went 7-for-13 for 74 yards and added two carries for two yards before exiting with a concussion.

Barring injuries, the former fifth-round pick doesn't figure to see much playing time during the 2023 season if he is on the active roster in Baltimore. Former MVP Lamar Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract in late April, while 2022 Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley is projected to be the backup.
