Former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Eli Manning can add another achievement to his extensive football resume, as he was selected for induction into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) in August of 2024 on Wednesday.

Manning will be joining Baseball Hall of Fame broadcaster Walter "Red" Barber, Madison-Ridgeland Academy basketball coach Richard Duease, 1982 Bassmasters Classic champion Paul Elias, former Jackson State and NFL wide receiver Jimmy Smith, former world champion long jumper and Ole Miss Rebel Savante Stringfellow, tennis champion Becky Vest, and former Mississippi State Bulldog Jimmy Webb.

Eli will follow his father Archie Manning into the MSHOF (who was inducted in 1989), similar to how the youngest of the Manning sons also followed his dad to Ole Miss

In his four years with the Rebels, he set or tied 47 records becoming the most decorated offensive player in school history. As a senior (2003), Manning finished third in the voting for the Heisman Trophy and received the Maxwell Award.

After being selected first overall in the 2004 NFL Draft, Manning would go on to have a hall-of-fame-worthy career with the New York Giants. In 16 seasons, Manning won two Super Bowls and two Super Bowl MVP awards (2008 and 2012). His notorious No. 10 has been retired by both the Rebels and Giants.

Manning was previously inducted into the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame in May. Manning played in the 2004 Cotton Bowl Classic leading Ole Miss to a 31-28 win over Oklahoma State. He passed for 259 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.

Manning and the rest of the MSHOF Class of 2024 will be inducted the weekend of Aug. 2-3 in Jackson.
