The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been doing yeoman's work when it comes to free agency. GM Jason Licht and company have done a fantastic job at retaining their key pieces while also working outside of One Buc Place, completing a trade with the Detroit Lions and bringing back former safety Jordan Whitehead from the Jets on a two-year, $9.5 million deal.
The deal to return Whitehead to Tampa Bay was a cheap one, and he should immediately step in at the opposite safety position of Antoine Winfield Jr. as he has experience playing in Todd Bowles' defense. Being a free agent this offseason Whitehead likely had plenty of suitors, but for some reason, there was always a belief he would end up back with the Buccaneers especially once starting running back Rachaad White started openly recruiting him.
The move became a reality on Wednesday and those players inside the Bucs' locker room were ecstatic to have Whitehead back in Tampa Bay after two years apart.

Whitehead was a key figure alongside Winfield Jr. in the Bucs' Super Bowl run in 2020 and now will once again get to line up in the Bucs secondary looking to create a better 1-2 punch from the safety position.
