Ravens star helps save woman's life during mid-flight medical emergency

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews made the biggest catch of his career off the field on Thursday, helping save a woman's life during a mid-flight medical emergency.

The three-time Pro Bowler is a Type 1 diabetic, and earlier in the 2023 regular season, he gave fans a detailed look at what he goes through every day.

Not only is Andrews a hero off the field but he's been one of the team's best players since he was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 28-year-old is already the third-leading receiver in franchise history with 4,857 career receiving yards. Andrews also needs just two touchdown receptions to pass retired tight end Todd Heap's team record of 41 scores and ranks third in targets (563) and catches (381).

The Oklahoma product played in a career-low 10 contests during the 2023 regular season due to a quad injury and later an ankle issue. Despite the seven missed games, Andrews was still one of quarterback Lamar Jackson's best offensive weapons, leading the Ravens in touchdown receptions (six) and finishing second in catches (45).

Andrews released a statement on Thursday afternoon, crediting the flight crew and on-board doctor and nurse for their heroics.
