Ravens sign HC John Harbaugh to three-year contract extension

It took a couple of months following the initial reports of a near-deal, but the Baltimore Ravens officially signed longtime head coach John Harbaugh to a contract extension on Tuesday afternoon. The deal puts Harbaugh under contract until 2025.

Harbaugh, who was about to enter the final year of his four-year deal that he signed in January 2019, will begin his 15th season at the helm in Baltimore in 2022. The Ravens have made the playoffs nine times under Harbaugh, including each of the first five seasons with him as the leader from 2008 to 2012.

Baltimore won its second Super Bowl in franchise history in 2012 when it defeated the San Francisco 49ers, with John Harbaugh beating his brother Jim in the big game. The Ravens then made the postseason only once from 2013 to 2017 and had three consecutive playoff berths from 2018 to 2020 before missing the cut in 2021 when they went 8-9.

The 2019 Associated Press Coach of the Year (the only Ravens coach to earn the honor), Harbaugh has a 137-88 career regular-season record in the regular season and has posted an 11-8 mark in the playoffs.
