Players' Report Card Shows Confidence in Mark Davis

Few teams in the National Football League have been through as much as the Las Vegas Raiders over the last few seasons. From Henry Ruggs and Chandler Jones to Jon Gruden and Josh McDaniels and now Coach Antonio Pierce, there aren't many organizations around the league that have had as polarizing of a team as the Raiders.

From Derek Carr to Jimmy Garoppolo to Aidan O'Connell. The Raiders have experienced more in the last four seasons than many organizations have experienced in a decade. Yet, Raiders owner Mark Davis has done an admirable job overseeing what is one of the most storied franchises in the NFL.

For an owner not known for his football acumen, Davis has formed a bond with his locker room that is hard to replicate.

The NFLPA recently released the results of their survey given to players around the league, allowing those players to speak freely and anonymously about the ins and outs of their organization. It is the only known method that allows players to voice their opinions candidly.

There were times when Davis could have lost the trust of his players. Yet, nearly each time, Davis made the best decision possible with his team in mind. It speaks to how in tune Davis is with his locker room, which all owners are not.

Davis has given his players, especially the leaders on the team, the ability to collaborate with him directly, only strengthening the trust they have in him. When big decisions come up that directly impact the team, Davis is sure to take into serious consideration how his players feel.

The Raiders have gone through multiple incidents that could have caused doubt in other organizations. However, Davis has found a way to gain and keep the trust of his most trusted players, who, through this survey, made it clear how they feel about the team's owner.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
