PFF suggests Steelers sign former first-round LB

The Steelers rebuilt their inside linebacker room this offseason after the group didn't force a single turnover in 2022. However, Pro Football Focus believes they should still add one more piece to the new-look unit.

PFF says Pittsburgh should sign LB Rashaan Evans, a former first-round pick by the Titans in 2018.

"We haven't changed our answer here after the Steelers addressed almost every weakness from a starter and depth standpoint throughout this offseason. Another piece at off-ball linebacker is the one final move that makes a lot of sense," PFF writes.

Evans spent 2022 with the Falcons after his first four seasons in Tennessee. He is coming off a career-high 159 tackles, which was seventh-best in the league last season, along with two sacks and one forced fumble.

The 27-year-old could be the Steelers' missing piece in their inside linebacker room. Pittsburgh already signed linebackers Cole Holcomb, Elandon Roberts, Nick Kwiatkoski and Tanner Muse this offseason, but adding Evans would make sense as the team is still missing an athletic linebacker.

The 6-foot-2, 232-pound linebacker would be a low-risk, high-reward addition for Pittsburgh as he would bring first-round caliber talent to the team at a cheap price.

The Steelers have already been linked to several athletic linebackers since LB Kwon Alexander visited and left without a contract. If Evans is the guy, he could certainly make a difference for Pittsburgh in 2023.
