PFF names the undrafted free agent rookie to watch for the Buffalo Bills
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday, Pro Football Focus named one undrafted free agent to keep an eye on for each NFL franchise and their choice for the Buffalo Bills is a name that should be familiar to Bills Mafia.

PFF's Thomas Valentine pointed out running back Frank Gore Jr as the undrafted free agent to watch in Buffalo.

Gore Jr, of course, is the son of former NFL running back Frank Gore, who spent the 2019 season with the Bills.

From PFF: Gore was a constant in the Southern Miss backfield over the last two seasons, rushing for 2953 yards and 22 touchdowns at a clip of 5.8 yards per carry. The Bills running back rotation past James Cook is anything but set in stone, so a strong training camp could bolster Gore’s chances of earning touches in 2024.

Gore Jr enters the league with far less hype than his dad did way back in 2005 when he was a third round pick out of Miami.

The younger Gore spent four seasons at Southern Mississippi, rushing for 4,022 yards and 26 touchdowns during his college career. He also caught 75 passes for 692 yards and four touchdowns.

Gore Jr's best collegiate season came in 2022 when he rushed for 1,382 yards (6.1 yards per carry) and caught 19 passes for 221 yards.

The Bills also added Kentucky running back Ray Davis this offseason (he was a fourth round selection in last month's draft). Gore Jr will fight with Davis, James Cook, Ty Johnson, and Darrynton Evans for a spot on Buffalo's depth chart.
