Packers QB Jordan Love returns to practice after shoulder injury

Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Jordan Love suffered a non-serious right shoulder injury in the first half of the preseason opener against the Houston Texans on Aug. 14 and was held out of Saturday's exhibition contest versus the New York Jets.

According to Kevin Patra of the NFL's website, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Love will participate in Monday's practice session. It's unknown exactly how much work the 2020 first-round draft pick will complete leading up to Saturday's preseason finale at the Buffalo Bills. His status for that contest is up in the air as of the start of the week.

Green Bay starter and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers isn't playing in the preseason to avoid injury worries. Kurt Benkert received the keys to the club's offense for Saturday's loss to the Jets. Benkert completed 18-of-25 passes for 151 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Jake Dolegala, who rejoined the Packers last week, could also play this Saturday if needed.
