NFL Poses A Question About The Next Great Manning

The surname “Manning” is synonymous with NFL excellence.

The head of the family, Archie Manning, still became a two-time Pro Bowler for the New Orleans Saints and is a member of that team’s Ring of Honor.

His legacy was continued by his sons, Peyton and Eli.

After playing for the Tennessee Volunteers, Peyton established a Hall of Fame career with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos.

He brought a Super Bowl victory to both franchises and became a five-time Most Valuable Player.

Peyton is also a ten-time All-Pro and a 14-time Pro Bowler.

He has also led the league in passing yards, touchdowns, passer rating, and completion percentage for more than one season.

Meanwhile, Eli led the New York Giants to two Super Bowl wins, both at the expense of the New England Patriots.

But with their careers over, another Manning is primed to continue the family’s legacy.

The NFL’s official Twitter account asked if Arch Manning is the next great player from the well-known family.

Arch is the son of Cooper Manning, Peyton and Eli’s brother who had to quit football due to spinal stenosis.

Lofty Expectations For Arch

His commitment to the Texas Longhorns got a lot of buzz because he is one of the highly-touted prospects from high school.

But while other schools like Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, and Virginia showed interest in him, the family kept his recruitment as low-key as possible.

It’s not his fault being born to a family with two generations of NFL quarterbacks.

However, there will be immense pressure for him to live up to the name.

In high school, he has shown that he could be the next big thing in football.

Luckily, he has his father, his grandfather, and his uncles to guide him on the bigger stage.
