NFL Insider Shares A.J. Brown Trade Rumor Update

W ide receiver A.J. Brown has emerged as a Pro Bowler for the Tennessee Titans.

He could have had 1,000 receiving yards last season if he didn’t miss four games.

But that’s more of an aberration because the former Ole Miss standout had 1,051 and 1,075 receiving yards in his first two NFL seasons, respectively.

That’s an impressive feat, considering that running back Derrick Henry dominates Tennessee’s snaps.

However, the Titans must act fast if they want to keep him because he will be entering the final year of his rookie contract worth $5.6 million.

He is set to receive a base salary of $3,986,000, which is already low for his production level.

Yet even if the Titans are better off retaining him, there have been rumors that they will put him on the trading block.

ESPN’s Dianna Russini refuted that scenario.

< p>Russini tweeted, “The Tennessee Titans are not shopping or taking calls on WR A.J. Brown, per sources. GM Jon Robinson made it clear at the owner’s meeting they are currently working towards keeping Brown a Titan for the long term. I’m told this has not changed.”

The Titans’ phone lines will become busy if they make Brown available.

But even if they intend to make him a Titan much longer, the 2022 season will help dictate the contract they will offer him.

Brown Will Get A Lot Of Green Bucks

The wide receiver market went through the roof after the deals signed by Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill.

Both players transferred teams and signed contracts that made them the highest-paid wideout at that point.

Those contracts will affect Brown’s extension, especially if he will have comparable numbers with those All-Pro wide receivers.

But realistically, the Titans might offer him a value lower than Adams because Henry remains their primary option on offense.
