NFL Analyst Expresses Confidence in Bengals Safety Dax Hill
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Bengals are expected to sign a veteran safety in free agency to help compliment a young group that includes Dax Hill and Jordan Battle.

Hill is entering his third season. He had an up-and-down year as a first-time starter following the departures of Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell.

Greg Cosell of NFL Films believes the Bengals should give Hill another season to learn the safety spot before making a change.

"I think you have to give him another year," Cosell said on the Bengals Booth Podcast. "He's a physical specimen. He can run. He's a great athlete. He's a great athlete and he's long. To me you have to work with him, coach him and if he can get beyond that and see things better, he could become a really, really good player."

Hill is entering his third season. He had 110 tackles, 11 passes defensed and two interceptions in 17 games last year.

The Bengals could still sign a safety, especially with so many veterans on the market. Out that veteran fits into a room with Hill, Battle and Tycen Anderson remains to be seen.
