Mike Tomlin: Dismal Steelers will 'turn over whatever stone' to improve

The Steelers (1-4) suffered their worst loss under Mike Tomlin on Sunday, falling to the Bills, 38-3. It was Pittsburgh's largest margin of defeat since a 51-0 loss to the Browns in Week 1 of 1989, when Chuck Noll coached the Steelers, per NFL Research.

Afterward, Tomlin told reporters, "I don't think anybody's going to be surprised by our willingness to turn over whatever stone to change the outcome of games like transpired today."

Over their past 40 games, counting postseason, the Steelers are 22-17-1. The team hasn't won a playoff game under Tomlin since Jan. 15, 2017 -- an 18-16 victory over the Chiefs -- and has given up at least 42 points in their past three playoff appearances, all losses.

So, what's next? Coaching changes? Personnel changes?

On deck for the Steelers are tough games against the Buccaneers, Dolphins and Eagles.

If there's a silver lining, it may be rookie QB Kenny Pickett, who threw for 327 yards against the Bills in his first NFL start. He impressed CBS Sports analyst Tony Romo.
