In his 40th year providing draft analysis for ESPN, Mel Kiper Jr. spent a little time during the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft detailing the way he eats pumpkin pie in an odd moment live on television.
A know pumpkin pie connoisseur, Kiper revealed again that he eats a whole pie every single day. He also showed how he applies his whipped cream to his pie, ranting to Todd McShay about how he isn't doing it right.

“Spray. Eat. Spray. Eat.”
“Like Todd Todd Todd, you gotta spray it all over there in one swoop.”
“Don’t eat the Crust. That’s hydrogenated oil.”

Viewers took to Twitter to give their thoughts on Kiper's pumpkin pie addiction, with some not being a fan of missing selections to hear about pie.
Especially since ESPN didn't air Kansas City Chiefs Megafan and TikTok star James Droz's chance to announce the Chiefs' seventh-round draft choice.
So they moved James Droz back to the 7th round and instead of showing him announce the pick, @espn talked over it about… pumpkin pie. Huge disappointment ♂️ #NFLDraft https://t.co/MJbGVZlUdn

While others found it to be interesting, especially after Kiper also admitted that he takes the cheese off of his pizza and gets 16 bottles of whipped cream shipped to him every month.
I don’t know what’s more disturbing. Mel Kiper saying he eats a pumpkin pie every day or that he says he doesn’t eat crust and also takes cheese off of pizza

While Kiper adds a ton of analysis to the broadcast and is loved by all of his fellow colleagues, this was a very strange moment but thankfully it was saved for later in the draft.
Otherwise, the draft was filled with many memorable reactions from players and their families after realizing their dream of being drafted into the NFL.
