It’s safe to say not many saw the Seattle Seahawks’ surprise 4-3 record and first-place standing in the NFC West coming over the summer.
The Seahawks’ Geno Smith-led offense ranks fifth in scoring (26.1 points per game) and 12th in total offense (362.9 yards per game), but former Pro Bowl running back-turned-NFL analyst Maurice Jones-Drew believes the team could benefit from an upgrade at running back, and listing Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt as an ideal trade option.
There is belief among NFL teams that Kareem Hunt can be acquired for a fourth-round pick, per @JFowlerESPN and @DanGrazianoESPN pic.twitter.com/8gRTvqCHG9

“After losing Rashaad Penny for the season, the Seahawks could use more depth behind rookie sensation Kenneth Walker III,” Jones-Drew said. “Seattle has been punching above its weight this season and needs a one-two punch in the backfield to help the NFL's fifth-ranked scoring offense continue playing at a high level.
“Cam Akers would be a perfect fit in offensive coordinator Shane Waldron's system, especially considering Waldron coached under Sean McVay for four seasons before going to Seattle, but I don't see L.A. trading within the division. So, Hunt is the next option. He would fit well in this offensive scheme — just like he would in Los Angeles.”
#Browns RB Kareem Hunt said he’s not heard anything re: potential trade. Said would have mixed emotions if Mon. is his last game here. He’s bothered by losing & lack of touches fine if they were winning but they’re not. If he’s moved, that team is “getting a hell of a player”

Seattle ranks 10th in the NFL in rushing (137 yards per game). Walker III has 410 yards and four touchdowns on 67 carries, but behind him, no other running back has more than 65 yards or scored a touchdown.
Hunt, who splits time in the backfield with the NFL’s leading rusher Nick Chubb, has 263 yards and three touchdowns on 66 carries. His 17 runs via first down would tie Walker for the team lead. Hunt was a Pro Bowler in 2017 when he led the league with 1,327 yards rushing and adding eight touchdowns.
