Kyler Gordon Placed on IR, Greg Stroman Jr. Signed to Bears Roster

The Chicago Bears are already in shambles and it's only Week 2. After leaving Sunday's game early due to an apparent injury, the Bears have placed Kyler Gordon on the IR . Gordon is the second Bears player to land on the IR after offensive lineman Teven Jenkins began the season on the IR.

The Bears were mum on Gordon's status Wednesday, indicating that things could be bad. In fact, that suspicion was correct, as the second-year corner is now unavailable for a few weeks.

Gordon was primed for a major leap in his sophomore NFL season. However, this certainly hinders that progress. In addition, the Bears are now more exposed in the slot without Gordon available. Who will overtake the spot? Terrell Smith, Jaylon Jones, Greg Stroman Jr., or Josh Blackwell will assume the slot duties while Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson man the outside.

The Bears will face a more established set of pass catchers on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Green Bay Packers gashed the Bears' secondary without top option Christian Watson. Romeo Doubs and Jaylen Reed led the passing attack. Now, the Bears corners will be responsible for covering Mike Evans and Chris Godwin on Sunday, as well as Russell Gage, in comparison. Gordon's presence will be desperately missed on Sunday and for the three games, minimum, following.
