Kliff Kingsbury to interview for Raiders offensive coordinator job

On year after he was fired as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Kliff Kingsbury is garnering interest in the 2024 NFL coaching cycle as an offensive coordinator.

According to NFL insider Albert Breer, Kingsbury is now set to meet with the Las Vegas Raiders to interview for the open OC position with recently-hired Antonio Pierce’s inaugural staff.

Here was that report from Breer:

“Source: The Raiders are scheduling an interview with USC assistant Kliff Kingsbury for later in the week in Vegas.”

Breer adds that “Kingsbury interviewed for the Bears and Eagles OC jobs already.”

Those aren’t the only reported suitors for Kingsbury, either. On Tuesday, another NFL reporter, Peter King, suggested that the Pittsburgh Steelers are curious about Kingsbury for their own open offensive coordinator spot after removing Matt Canada from the position in the middle of the season.

King revealed on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh that Kingsbury is “going to talk to” the Steelers, having already interviewed with the Chicago Bears and Eagles.

The Las Vegas Raiders also have their eye on another guy with Pittsburgh Steelers connections. Earlier in day Wednesday, the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Steelers quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan would interview for the Raiders OC job after he impressed as the Steeler play-caller this season once Canada was let go.

Garafolo posted the following tweet Wednesday morning:

“The Raiders will interview Steelers QB coach Mike Sullivan for their offensive coordinator job, sources say. Sullivan, who called plays this season after Matt Canada was fired, was an assistant on Tom Coughlin’s Giants staff while Antonio Pierce captained the defense.”

So, Kingsbury is reportedly interviewing with both Las Vegas and Pittsburgh, while interim Steelers OC and QBs coach Mike Sullivan also has a Raiders interview. However, he’s not a candidate to become the Steelers OC because Mike Tomlin has indicated he is interested in pursuing an outside hire. But if Sullivan doesn’t get the Raiders OC job, it seems likely he’d be back in Pittsburgh as the quarterbacks coach again.
