K.J. Wright signs one-day contract with Seahawks, retires after 11 seasons

As training camp kicks off, the Seattle Seahawks made one more signing Wednesday and officially saw a longtime member of their linebackers group hang up his cleats.

It was reported in June that Wright was ready to retire if the Seahawks didn't bring him back for the 2022 campaign. The one-time Pro Bowl linebacker was selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by Seattle and spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the club, before suiting up with the Las Vegas Raiders last year.

Wright finished his lone season in Las Vegas with 51 tackles in 17 games (eight starts).

The announcement comes one day after two-time 1,000-yard rusher Chris Carson was forced to retire after just five seasons (all with the Seahawks) due to a neck injury.
