Josh McDaniels is blowing his second chance as an NFL head coach

Maybe time is a flat circle. How else could one explain that after a 12-year gap, Josh McDaniels is the same head coach as he was when he went 11-17 in Denver? McDaniels hasn't evolved, and it's leading to the devolution of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The team blew its third 17-point lead this season -- this time against the Jacksonville Jaguars -- and it happened a week after getting shut out against a below-average New Orleans Saints defense.

Las Vegas dropped to 2-6 on the season, and McDaniels is now 13-23 as an NFL head coach. He is 5-15 in his past 20 games.

Social media has not been kind to the embattled head coach in recent weeks.

It was only a matter of time before McDaniels got a second chance to prove himself as an NFL head coach. He is quickly squandering that opportunity on an expensive roster that was built to win now. The argument that the team doesn't have the talent to win goes out the window when considering they've now lost three games in which they've had three-score leads.

Their in-game struggles serve as a microcosm of the season as a whole. No matter how much money the front office spends, no matter how many points the Raiders go up by, it isn't leading to positive outcomes.

How much longer until the Raiders' front office has seen enough?
