Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus among new additions to 2024 NASCAR Hall of Fame ballot

“Four legends have a chance to become immortal,” tweeted NASCAR. “Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus, Donnie Allison and Les Richter have been added to the 2024 #NASCARHOF ballot.”

Additionally, NASCAR explained that voting is scheduled for the first week of August, and the way it’s conducted, both Johnson and Knaus have a fantastic shot at getting in on their first try.

“Voting for the #NASCARHOF Class of 2024 is scheduled for Aug. 2,” added NASCAR. “Two inductees will be chosen from the Modern Era Ballot. One inductee will be chosen from the Pioneer Ballot. One nominee will receive the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.”

While the ballots are filled with many capable members of the NASCAR world, Johnson is arguably the greatest driver of all time, and Knaus has a claim for being the top crew chief in the history of the sport. They’re getting in, and it’ll likely happen on this ballot.

It’s all about going through the motions. Nevertheless, it’s a great day for Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus and everyone who has a chance to get into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, but the seven-time champ will likely get another moment in the sun in a couple weeks.
