Jets owner Woody Johnson puts NFL Network on blast following latest annual league meeting reports
Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Bad blood in New York?

At least that's what it seemed after a report from the NFL Network alleged that Jets owner Woody Johnson and head coach Robert Saleh got into a "very heated conversation" at the 2024 NFL League Meetings.

“From a very reliable source, at the owners meetings, there was a very heated conversation between Woody (Johnson) and Robert Saleh. To the point where it was a little awkward,” Colleen Wolfe explained.

However, it seems that wasn't the case at all. And Johnson has decided to speak out publicly.

"All this nonsense about a heated argument between Coach Saleh and me at the League Meeting is absolutely false. It is yet another irresponsible report from NFL Network. Please disregard," Johnson said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Athletic's Connor Hughes responded to the original report later that same day, saying that "no verbal argument between Robert Saleh and Woody Johnson" occured.

"I know because I was at the party where this apparently happened, feet from Saleh & Johnson, before Johnson & Jets contingent left. Woody took them out to dinner," Hughes said.

Prior to the 2023 season things were finally looking up for the Jets after they signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, just 75 seconds into his tenure, he went down with a torn Achilles. And so the Jets season was once again filled with disappointment.

So there are things to be frustrated over. But to get into a heated argument in such a public setting would be a bit extreme.

And it seems that it never happened. Johnson just wants it in the past.
