Jets DT Al Woods out for season with torn Achilles
Kevin R. Wexler - The Record / USA TODAY NETWORK

New York Jets defensive tackle Al Woods tore his Achilles during Sunday's 13-10 overtime win against the New York Giants, according to coach Robert Saleh.

Woods was injured on the final play of the first quarter, a 6-yard rush by the Giants' Saquon Barkley. Woods did not crack the stat sheet prior to exiting.

In six games this season, the 36-year-old Woods recorded six tackles and one sack.

Woods was in his first season with the Jets after spending time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2010), Seattle Seahawks (2011, 2019-22), Pittsburgh Steelers (2012-13), Tennessee Titans (2014-16) and Indianapolis Colts (2017-18).

The Jets also saw their offensive line get banged up on Sunday, as center Connor McGovern injured his knee and guard Wes Schweitzer, who was filling in at center, injured his calf. Saleh said the team expects to know more about the extent of both injuries on Monday.
