Jets' Defensive Tackle Goes Down vs. Giants, Will Not Return
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets' defensive front lost a rotational piece to injury late in the first quarter against the New York Giants.

Veteran defensive tackle Al Woods went down in the final minute of the opening period and needed help to get off the field. Appearing unable to put any weight on his right leg, the 36-year-old Woods limped off to the sideline with the assistance of two trainers.

Minutes later, a cart drove Woods to the Jets' locker-room. He was initially ruled as DOUBTFUL to return due to a calf injury and was later downgraded to OUT.

After starting 30 of 34 games the past two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Woods joined the Jets on a one-year free-agent deal this past May.

Woods recorded six tackles, two quarterback hits and 1.0 sack through his first five games as a Jet. His quarterback pressure forced the Denver Broncos into a safety during a 31-21 road win.
