Jalen Guyton Stepping Up Massively For Bolts Since Returning From Injury
USA TODAY Sports

One of the biggest parts from recent weeks for the Los Angeles Chargers was the return of wide receiver Jalen Guyton from injury. He missed the majority of last season after tearing his ACL, and he worked his way back to make his debut against the New York Jets earlier this month.

Although he did miss the first part of the season, Guyton has hit the ground running in his return. In two games this year, Guyton has four catches for 41 yards and one touchdown.

Guyton appreciates being one of the veterans on this team, and he knows that he needs to step up to help lead the way. He just wants to win, and so far, he is doing his part in helping.

"It goes a really long way helping the younger guys build confidence, even me build confidence in myself," Guyton added. "More than anything, helping Justin and allowing the offensive line to be confident in the rest of the receivers. It helps everybody marry up and really feel good about each other."

Getting a guy like Guyton back has been huge for the Chargers offense, and his production has shown what they have been missing. Since Mike Williams went out with his injury, LA has been depleted on the wide receiver front, but Guyton gives them another weapon to use.

His chemistry with quarterback Justin Herbert is apparent, and it has helped unlock something with the Bolts.

"Whoever is on the field and the offense is able to roll like that and continue to get points and answer when you need to and when there's pressure, that will give anybody confidence," Guyton said. "Especially when we have a situation where guys have to step up and some of the guys who carry most of the load for us aren't out there."

The hope is that the Bolts' offense can continue to click on all cylinders as the year progresses more. It's getting into crunch time, so it's now put up or shut up time for Los Angeles.
