Insider says four-time Pro Bowler will 'be back in Baltimore'

The Ravens have been linked to a couple of veteran pass-rushers as they round out their roster for the 2023 season, but one insider believes the team is going to bring back a familiar face.

BaltimoreRavens.com writer Clifton Brown believes edge-rusher Justin Houston will "be back in Baltimore" by the start of the 2023 season.

Houston signed with the Ravens in July and August the last two offseasons. So, it wouldn't be a surprise if the team decided to bring back the four-time Pro Bowler once again this summer.

The 34-year-old has 55 tackles, 14 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception over the past two seasons. He even led the team in sacks (9.5) in 2022, proving he still has some gas left in the tank.

Houston would also provide some insurance to the group as Baltimore's 2022 second-round pick David Ojabo, who tore his Achilles during his rookie year, and Tyus Bowser missed significant time due to injuries in 2022.

He could fill in for an injured or underperforming player and already said he wanted to return to the team in January.

"The way I feel right now – I'll be back," Houston said, via the team's website. "We'll see if the chips work out, and I'll be here. That's out of my control. We'll see what they do. I'd like to be back here."

The Ravens signed Houston to a one-year, $3.5M contract last offseason. With nearly $10M in cap space, a reunion seems more of a matter of when and not if at this point.
