Incredible Sean McVay stat surfaces after Raheem Morris hire
Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports

Sean McVay’s coaching tree continues to grow after the Atlanta Falcons hired his defensive coordinator Raheem Morris on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Rams coach’s staff continues to produce head coaches, as shown by one viral stat. Per Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network, Morris is the fifth of McVay’s assistants to land a head-coaching job in the seven years since he was hired by the Rams.

Perhaps more remarkable than the volume is the fact that most of these coaches have been successful. Matt LaFleur is in charge of an up-and-coming Green Bay Packers team while Zac Taylor has led the Cincinnati Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance. Brandon Staley and Kevin O’Connell have not been quite as successful, but both have guided teams to the playoffs as well since being hired.

McVay might not be able to take all the credit here. After all, he was part of another coaching tree that produced much of this talent.
