Harold Landry's 'Excited For Sure' To Be Back On The Practice Field With The Titans

NASHVILLE -  Harold Landry hasn’t been on a football field with the rest of his Tennessee Titans teammates since last season, when he tore his ACL just ten days before the 2022 season, causing him to miss the entire year. 

Landry, the Titans second-round selection from Boston College in 2018, said that the timing of his injury allowed him to have an entire year for recovery to be ready to begin camp this season. While that aspect has been discussed, the veteran pass rusher's description of how his knee feels three days into his return drew the most attention.   

 Asked about his knee and where it is in the rehab process, Landry said it’s “damn-near perfect.” 

“Obviously, having the time that I had this whole offseason, it wasn’t just about my knee,” he said. “I had a chance to also continue to improve my game, and work on my game, and not just rehab, but to be able to do my position work and stuff like that throughout the offseason. It got me right where we’re right on schedule for this season, and I’m excited about that.”

While the excitement was visible from the moment he stepped behind the podium, Landry shared that perhaps the most challenging part of his time away was the time away from his teammates and the sport he loves. 

“But, honestly, being away for that long, you start to appreciate and miss even more just coming out here on the practice field and hearing Jeff (Simmons) talk [expletive] or just hearing your guys joking around. But at the same time, everybody is just out here grinding and having a good time… I’m ecstatic to be back.”

Landry also acknowledged that he feels stronger, faster, and more explosive now than before, which is a good sign for him, and the Titans, as Landry will be counted on to apply pressure off the edge for this defense this season.
