Hall of Fame QB gave Packers' Jordan Love 'gems' at training camp

To replace former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a future Hall of Famer, Jordan Love sought advice from a HOF QB: Peyton Manning.

Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Manning recently attended the Packers training camp for a project he's working on. It's unrelated to "Quarterback," the Netflix show he produces. However, Manning and Love extensively discussed what it takes to become a premier player.

"He had a lot of really good gems just in terms of how you take notes, how you watch film," Love said Tuesday, via Ryan Wood of PackersNews.com. "How are you asking to be coached? Are you a guy who wants to be coached really hard? Are you a guy who kind of just wants to be able to do their own thing? It all really matters. He said that when he was a player, that was his biggest thing. He wanted to be coached really hard."

Love listening to Manning is great for the Packers since he was one of the best QBs ever. In 17 seasons with the Broncos and Colts, he won two Super Bowls and an NFL record five MVPs.

Love, the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, only played in 10 games through his first three seasons, throwing three TDs and three interceptions. His inexperience and unexceptional performance raised doubts about his ability.

"We have no idea what this guy is," an offensive coach told The Athletic's Mike Sando in his annual QB tiers. "My initial read is that he doesn't process the game well enough. I don't see a natural, smooth, instinctive player the way he reacts to the defense."

Love, 24, could silence skeptics and become a franchise QB if he absorbs the knowledge Manning gave him.
