Giants' Julian Love praises 'transparency' of Brian Daboll, coaching staff

The New York Giants unceremoniously fired Joe Judge as head coach in January to spark the dawn of a new era for the organization after he went a combined 10-23 over a pair of rather forgettable seasons.

Big Blue went on to hire Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen to be the new general manager, and Schoen quickly selected Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to serve as his head coach.

Meanwhile, safety Julian Love has been attached to the Giants since the franchise selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 draft. Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Love was asked during a recent NFL Network appearance to comment on completing springtime workouts under Daboll, new defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale and the rest of the coaching staff.

"The biggest thing so far has been just transparency from the top down," Love explained. "I think any worker, that’s what you want. You want to know what your boss is thinking, what he expects from you, and that’s what it’s been so far. It’s been great to get to know Coach Dabes. He’s very eccentric, I guess you could say. He has a lot of energy. You can see him wearing his all-black suit every day with the J’s on. He’s a different breed as a coach. It’s been good just to get to know these guys."

Daboll's first season in charge will likely be graded by how quarterback Daniel Jones plays in what could, if things go south, be his final year with the franchise. If, however, Daboll gets the best out of Jones, Love and others on the defensive side of the ball could ultimately help the Giants surprise some analysts and fans later this fall.
