Fresh LA Signing Boasts Unique Justin Herbert Connection
USA TODAY Sports

Your Los Angeles Chargers added some reinforcement this past week when they signed former Super Bowl champion linebacker Justin Hollins. Hollins was signed off the New York Giants practice squad and is returning to Los Angeles after spending three seasons with the Rams.

Hollins not only returns to a familiar city but also has a familiarity with LA's QB1 Justin Herbert. Herbert and Hollins were college teammates from 2016-2018 as members of the Oregon Ducks.

The former fifth-round pick is coming into Los Angeles off his best season yet in 2022 with the Los Angeles Rams/Green Bay Packers.

He posted 35 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 15 pressures, right hurries, and seven QB hits. The Chargers could use all the help they can get on defense, as they rank among the bottom of many defensive categories. We're not sure how much of a role Hollins will play this year, but he will bring championship experience to an underachieving Charger team.

A reunion with a former teammate could be what Hollins needs at this stage of his career, and we'll see what type of impact it has on the 27-year-old.
