Former Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin 'Most Underrated Ever,' Says Russell Wilson
USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks of the mid-2010s feature some of the most iconic players in franchise history and multiple future Hall of Famers. The Legion of Boom defense garnered much of the attention, but the offense led by quarterback Russell Wilson also played a huge role in that success. And on that offense, receiver Doug Baldwin was a player who flew under the radar even more.

After going undrafted in 2011, Baldwin quietly developed into a great receiver. In his eight-year career with Seattle, Baldwin had 6,593 yards, including two 1,000 yard seasons, and 49 touchdowns, including a league-high 14 in 2015. Injuries unfortunately cut his career short, but he is still a huge part of Seahawks history.

Despite his success, Baldwin rarely got the respect he should have, with only two Pro Bowl appearances throughout his career. So when discussing the topic of underrated receivers, Baldwin is often one of the first to come up. Wilson even weighed in on the issue, calling his former teammate the most underrated receiver in NFL history.

Wilson has become a divisive figure in Seattle since his departure last offseason. Despite all the success he had, the way he handles himself at times left a bad taste in many's mouth, including some of his former teammates.

Despite his divisiveness nowadays, it's clear that Wilson still looks back on his time in Seattle fondly, and his appreciation for Baldwin is indicative of that.
