Former NFL Pro Bowlers make concerning accusations about Ohio State OC Chip Kelly

This week some concerning things surfaced about Ohio State’s offensive coordinator.

Chip Kelly was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013 to 2015 and during that time is when said things came about.

The 25/10 Show hosted by LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson has made accusations that Kelly was afraid of being around black players and more.

“I never had a coach who was scared, not even scared, I’ll say uncomfortable around Black players,” McCoy said of Kelly. “Let’s not hide it, right? Most of the players are black. The NFL is dominated by Black players.”

According to a study, over 53 percent of players in the NFL are African American. With the allegations against Kelly, that makes it all that much more concerning since the players he coached were more likely than not black.

“He never really approached me, and was never a disciplinarian,” said Jackson of Kelly. “He would talk to me, and it was like he was scared of me. I respect certain coaches, and when you get my respect, I will run through a brick wall for you. That’s the love that you build with a coach. With Chip Kelly, I never felt that love, because he always was scared of me. How can I respect you if I feel like you’re scared of me? You never voiced your opinion with me, you always ran around it.”

Michael Vick spent one season in 2013 with Kelly as his head coach and that season was worse on his mental state than his prison sentence in the late 2000’s, according to his teammates.

“Do you remember that time he made Michael Vick cry?” Jackson asked McCoy. “I remember him saying, ‘Bro, I cried more dealing with Chip Kelly and the Eagles bro than I did in prison’.”

Ohio State originally hired Bill O’Brien to be the offensive coordinator after last season but he ended up taking the head coach gig at Boston College when it came open. That is when the Buckeyes turned to Kelly to call plays.

While it is two of Kelly’s former players at the pro level of the sport making the accusations, it still comes off as a bit of a worry considering college football is dominated by black student-athletes as well.
