Five players the Chargers should target in the 2024 NFL Draft

The San Diego Chargers are going to be a team to watch in 2024 with Jim Harbaugh at the helm of the ship.

The Chargers have suddenly become must-see TV not just during the season but also the offseason, and April 27's NFL Draft in Detroit, Michigan should be no different.

The Chargers have the number five overall selection which could turn their already talented roster into a playoff and division title contender this season.

Here are five players the Chargers should target in this year's draft:

1. Malik Nabers, WR

Some draft predictions including USAToday have Harbaugh's team taking Georgia tight end Brock Bowers at pick number five.

Bowers is a fantastic prospect, but Harbaugh seems to prefer tight ends in the 6-foot-5-to-6-foot-6 range and the Georgia product is slightly smaller.

The Chargers would be better off grabbing Jayden Daniels' top target at LSU, Nabers, who fits Harbaugh's ideal of an explosive, productive and dependable receiver who can take short passes to the house.

2. Brock Bowers, TE

If Nabers is off the board at pick five, Harbaugh and the Chargers brass might decide that Bowers is too talented to pass up.

Harbaugh got an up close and personal look at the Georgia tight end in the College Football Playoff in 2022 and knows his game-wrecking ability all too well.

3. Josh Wallace, CB

The Michigan football cornerback came over from UMass and quietly put together one of the most error-free seasons in college football at the position.

He had a lot of help from teammates but that doesn't discount his performance as a player who was thrown at fairly often with future top-ten pick Will Johnson on the other side of the field.

The Chargers should target him in the later rounds.

4. Trevor Keegan, OG

Keegan gave up zero sacks and just one QB hit on 360 pass-blocking snaps last year for Michigan football as an offensive guard.

He has imposing size at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds and can play multiple positions along the offensive line, but the Chargers may have to trade up (or down) to get him in the early to late second round.

5. Blake Corum, RB

Michigan has what would be an NFL record 18 players expected to participate in the 2024 NFL Draft combine and Corum is expected to be one of them.

His production, leadership and record-setting performance in Ann Arbor suggests that Harbaugh may covet him in the second to third rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Corum could be the steal of the draft. His diminutive size belies a fierce competitor and tireless worker with supreme talent. According to ESPN's Bruce Feldman, Corum has previously recorded three-cone and shuttle drill numbers that would place him among the fastest running backs in the last decade
