FIGHT! Bills Logos Taped to Jets Tackling Dummies

Back in the day, the term was "High-School Harry.'' Ol' Eagles coach Buddy Ryan used it as a weapon against Jimmy Johnson when the latter jumped from college football to the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.

We don't think the phrase is in vogue anymore. But we are bringing it back now in honor of the New York Jets, who have opened up their training camp with some amateurish silliness ... oh, and a Jets-vs.-Jets brawl.

Seriously - and you can see the photo - the Jets seem to believe they've found a new strategy to help guys get motivated to hit those tackling dummies by taping Buffalo Bills (and New England Patriots, and we assume Miami Dolphins) logos to the equipment.

Again: They've taken 8x11 sheets of paper out of somebody's copy machine, Xeroxed Bills logos onto the paper, grabbed a roll of Scotch Tape or whatever, and slapped them onto the tackling dummy.

This defines what "High-School Harry'' means. Oh, and what happens when players from the Jets, the AFC East's last-place team, actual tackle the tackling dummies? Doesn't the paper rip and fall right off? Or do the Jets not hit hard enough to disrupt an 8x11 piece of paper?

To top it all off, while the Jets did not destroy paper, they did get into a camp brawl with one another. "Huge brawl, punches thrown,'' all that. So in summary, until further notice? The Jets are "High-School Harrys.'' And they are still just the Jets.
