ESPN predicts the Bears will sign a 5-time Pro Bowler this offseason
Jeremy Reper-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN made some predictions for each non-playoff team on Monday and they have the Chicago Bears signing one of the top free agents that will be on the market this offseason.

Aaron Schatz thinks the Bears will use the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select a quarterback. And he also thinks that Chicago will sign wide receiver Mike Evans to give their new quarterback another top receiving option.

From ESPN: The Bears will use the No. 1 pick on a new quarterback and invest in that quarterback by signing Mike Evans, one of the top free agent wide receivers. Evans has 10 straight 1,000-yard seasons and would pair nicely with DJ Moore in this offense.

Evans will turn 31 just before the start of the 2024 season, but he's been remarkably consistent throughout his career.

The former Texas A&M standout has never finished a professional season with fewer than 1,000 receiving yards. And he's never missed more than three games in a season. Signing Evans won't be cheap, but it could be a good move for the Bears -- especially if Chicago drafts a young quarterback.

Evans has played with numerous quarterbacks -- from Mike Glennon to Jameis Winston to Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield -- and always put up consistently solid numbers. He would be a huge asset for a rookie quarterback.
