Eli Manning trolls Tom Brady: 'He hates my mom' over Super Bowl disappointments

Current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady could retire today to become Fox Sports' new lead NFL analyst and be widely regarded as the G.O.A.T. to ever play the position. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is coming off a season in which he produced Most Valuable Player-caliber numbers at the age of 44 and presumably could remain an NFL QB1 past his 50th birthday.

However, Brady hasn't gotten the best of all of the competition all of the time.

Brady and the New England Patriots famously fell to Eli Manning and the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII and again in Super Bowl XLVI. As William Ricks noted for Sportscasting, Hall of Famer Peyton Manning notched three playoff victories over Brady during his legendary career.

Eli Manning had some fun at Brady's expense while speaking with Julian Edelman, Brady's former teammate with the Patriots, during Edelman's "Games with Names" podcast.

"[Tom Brady] hates us (Eli and Peyton Manning). He hates my mom," Eli joked, per Jasper Jones of Audacy Sports. "If it weren’t for Olivia Manning, Tom would have like 12 Super Bowls probably."

Brady and the Manning brothers are friendly away from football fields, and Brady even appeared on an edition of the "Monday Night Football" "ManningCast" last fall.

"We respect Tom," Eli Manning added during the podcast. "What’s to hate about him? Just a perfectly good-looking guy who throws spirals and wins games. How do you hate that guy?"

Of course, that's easy for Eli to say considering Brady never denied him a chance of hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy on a Super Bowl Sunday.
