Ed Reed On Flacco To Browns - 'It's Not The Steelers'

After former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco signed with the Cleveland Browns, Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed shared some fun thoughts about the move.

"It's not like he's going to the Steelers, man," Reed said via Ian Rapoport. "He's somewhere that actually has a connection to Baltimore. But I'm all for it. It might be a Cinderella thing, it might be awesome, if Joe can get them to the playoffs."

Flacco signed with the Browns after starting quarterback Deshaun Watson's season was ended with shoulder surgery and backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was ruled out for Cleveland's game against the Los Angeles Rams due to a concussion.

Across 15 NFL seasons, Flacco has played in 183 regular season games, throwing for 232 career touchdowns during that span. When he starts for the Browns, it will be the fourth team that he has played for during his career.

The 38-year-old quarterback last played for Baltimore in 2018 and was most recently a member of the New York Jets. In 2012, Flacco led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers and was named Super Bowl MVP.

"He's won a Super Bowl, and not many quarterbacks can say they won a Super Bowl," Reed said. "He played his ass off during those whole playoffs."

Reed finished his career in Baltimore as one of the best defensive players ever, recording 646 tackles, 64 interceptions, 139 passes defended, 34 tackles for loss and 13 career touchdowns. He was named First Team All-Pro five times, made nine Pro Bowls and was the 2004 Defensive Player of the Year.
