Eagles trade three-time Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz to Cardinals

Zach Ertz's nearly nine-year run with the Philadelphia Eagles has come to a close.

According to multiple reports Friday morning, the Pro Bowl tight end has been traded from the Eagles to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Eagles will receive a 2022 fifth-round pick and rookie cornerback Tay Gowan, a player Philadelphia reportedly "loved" during the draft.

Ertz was selected 35th overall by the Eagles in the 2013 NFL Draft and over the last eight-plus seasons has made three Pro Bowls. He ends his Philadelphia career with 579 receptions for 6,267 yards and 38 touchdowns — including one on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — in 123 regular-season games.

Ertz was the team's leading receiver in four straight seasons from 2016 through 2019 and helped the Eagles win their first Super Bowl in franchise history. In the Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots, Ertz brought in a team-high seven receptions for 67 yards and caught the game-winning touchdown with 2:21 remaining in the fourth quarter.
