Eagles fears turn into reality moments before kickoff
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without starting right tackle Lane Johnson when they take on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Johnson was downgraded to questionable on Sunday morning after waking up with soreness in his groin. He was treated and scheduled for an MRI.

Johnson was also seen doing some exercises on the field with the Eagles' personal trainer where he seemed to be okay, however, not enough to play a game.

Johnson's absence is a huge loss for the Eagles' offense. To put the words "huge loss" into perspective, the Eagles are 70-31-1 with Johnson in the lineup and 10-22 without him.

Backup Jack Driscoll is expected to start in place of Johnson. Driscoll last stepped up for the All-Pro tackle against the New York Jets, which did not go over too well. The Birds also have Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson as backups.

Here is the Eagles' full list of inactive vs. the Bills:

In lighter news, the Eagles officially activated wide receiver Quez Watkins from the Injured Reserve ahead of Sunday and elevated linebacker Ben VanSumeren and tight end Noah Togiai to the active roster for extra depth.
