Eagles’ Cleveland and Ojomo Injuried, Taken off Field during Game
Justin Robertson / USA TODAY NETWORK

During a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, two Philadelphia Eagles players got hurt. Tyrie Cleveland, a wide receiver, and Moro Ojomo, a defensive lineman, had neck injuries and had to be taken off the field on carts.

Coach’s Update on Players’ Conditions

The coach, Nick Sirianni, said he hasn’t talked to the doctors yet, but it seems like the players can move a bit. He doesn’t know anything more than that.

Other Injuries during the Game

There were more injuries for the Eagles that night. Zech McPhearson hurt his ankle and couldn’t play anymore. Nolan Smith, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Josh Andrews also got hurt and had to leave the game.

Nolan Smith, who’s been playing well during training camp, said he’s okay and was taken out of the game for precautionary reasons. Zech McPhearson’s injury looked worse. He couldn’t put weight on his right leg and needed help to get off the field.

Worrisome Injuries: Tyrie Cleveland and Moro Ojomo

The most worrisome injuries were Tyrie Cleveland’s and Moro Ojomo’s. Tyrie Cleveland, who used to play for the Denver Broncos, got hurt when he tried to catch the ball and landed on his head/neck. He didn’t move much after falling.

The game stopped while trainers and medical staff helped him. He was taken off the field on a cart with a backboard. The Eagles said he hurt his neck but could move his arms and legs.

In the fourth quarter, Moro Ojomo was also hurt. His teammate accidentally hit his neck while they were trying to tackle the Browns’ quarterback. He was taken off the field on a cart, but he gave a thumbs-up and waved. The Eagles confirmed he hurt his neck too, but he could move his arms and legs.

Teammates’ Reactions and Reflections on Player Injuries

Marcus Mariota, the quarterback of the team, expressed that occurrences like this are disheartening. He said it’s a blessing to play the game, but it’s scary when players get hurt like that.
