Eagles announce flurry of roster moves
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to perfect their roster heading into their Week 14 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

The team announced a handful on Wednesday, which included the official signing of All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard to the active roster.

In more moves, the Eagles waived linebacker Christian Ellis, signed wide receiver Greg Ward to the Practice Squad, and released wideout Cam Sims from the Practice Squad.

Ellis made his first start in place of injured starter Zach Cunningham on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

The 24-year-old played 44 snaps, logging six tackles and a tackle for loss in the Eagles' 42-19 loss to San Fran.

He appeared in 12 games for the Birds this season and was credited for 16 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one quarterback pressure.

With Cunningham trending in the right direction and the new addition of Leonard, the Eagles no longer need Ellis' assistance but could end up signing him to the practice squad.
