Dolphins Receive Brutal Injury Update On Bradley Chubb
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins edge rusher Bradley Chubb will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

Chubb suffered the injury during his team’s blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon. He logged six tackles during the defeat.

This marks the second key pass rusher the Dolphins have lost this season, as fellow edge rusher Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles in November.

Chubb’s loss is a devastating one for a Miami defense that had been showing significant improvement up until allowing 56 points to the Ravens.

On the season overall, Chubb racked up 74 tackles, 11 sacks, six forced fumbles and a couple of fumble recoveries.

The 27-year-old was in his first full campaign with the Dolphins after coming over in a midseason trade with the Denver Broncos last year.

Chubb, who played his collegiate football at North Carolina State, was originally selected by the Broncos with the fifth overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a spectacular rookie campaign, registering 60 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Unfortunately for Chubb, injuries proceeded to write much of the story for his tenure in the Mile High City, as he played in just four games in his second season and then just seven contests in 2021.

Chubb made just one trip to the Pro Bowl during his time with the Broncos, which came in 2020 when he posted a rather modest 42 tackles, 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

He made his second Pro Bowl appearance last season after totaling 39 tackles, eight sacks and three forced fumbles

The Dolphins fell to 11-5 with their loss to the Ravens, losing out on a chance to secure the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Baltimore clinched that distinction with the victory.

Miami will battle the Buffalo Bills with the AFC East division title on the line next weekend. The problem is, the Dolphins will have to do it without Bradley Chubb.
